About Us
NHR began in Nottingham in 1996. Between 1996 and 2000
the business was Restoring and Refurbishing Victorian and Edwardian houses
in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham, which were passed on to buyers.
Due to the high quality of work every house sold went for the asking price,
or above, with a maximum of 5 viewings before the sale.
It was then decided to use the resources and offer our building services
to the general public. Our emphasis is on craftsmanship, communication,
planning, selective procedures and staff training.
NHR has its clients in the maintenance sector, rental properties, nursing
homes, special needs accommodation, residential care homes, offices and
retail outlets.
In the general building sector, NHR has property developers as well as the
general public amongst it's clients.
The Project Process

Get an Estimate:
Contact us and we will arrange an appointment convenient to you for your
free estimate.
Appointment:
One of our estimators will visit you on the appointed day to survey the
works required. This includes our estimator taking measurements, photographs
and asking questions to make a full evaluation of your project. It is important
at this stage to let the estimator have any plans, planning permission and
building regulation consents if it is applicable.
Preparing the Estimate:
It usually takes about 1 week to prepare an estimate, depending on the complexity
of the works. Our estimators visit several customers in a week and need
to obtain information from suppliers and sometimes specialists in order
to put together your tailor-made estimate.
Receiving your Estimate:
All our estimates are sent out as first-class post or e-mailed if possible
and state the price and description for the project. When you receive your
estimate you can review the cost and the detailed items. If you have any
queries or would like to add any further items please contact us to discuss
this with the estimator.
When you are happy with the cost and the items detailed in the estimate
simply call us or e-mail to confirm your acceptance of the estimate.
Sending a Contract:
For large projects, once we have received your acceptance of the estimate,
we will send you a contract to be signed and returned to us. Depending on
the size of the project we may require a deposit at this stage.
Starting Works:
We can discuss start dates for the project once we have received your signed
contract and (where applicable) the deposit for the project.
Projects (depending on size and type) can be started between 1 week and
2 months from the receipt of a signed contract.
Works in Progress:
While the works are being carried out the project manager will manage the
building works and be your first point of contact. You are welcome to contact
us at anytime to discuss additional works, changes or queries regarding
the works being done. NHR consider clear & concise communication essential.
Finishing:
When the works are complete and the workers have left your property, the
project manager will visit you to appraise the finished project. We would
greatly appreciate it if you could complete our customer service questionnaire
to assist us to improve our services. NHR take your comments seriously and
rely on them to appraise our service and improve our training.
